About all this

As the result of a reorganization, I found myself without a job in March 2004. I started this journal as a way to record my activities and observations during the time that I was out of work. At that time, the journal was titled "When the job goes away."

In July of that year, I found work, first as a contract worker and, later, in 2005, as a permanent employee. I changed the title of this journal to "A traveler in the world of work."

In April 2007, I left my job to attend to some important personal business. The title of this journal is now "A traveler from the world of work."

RoasterBoy, my nom de blog, comes from a particular blend of coffee at Kimball Farm in Westford MA. When I worked in Lexington, I'd often stop at Kimball's on my way to the office.

In addition to this and my other personal blogs, I am a contributor to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette's OnTheCommon.com blog group, covering the towns of Holden and Phillipston, Masaschusetts. You can find my OnTheCommon blog here.
